ACT 1.

[EXT. Road. Night.]

(Mahone points his gun at Michael and Lincoln.)

Mahone: Almost made it.

Sara (v/o, on phone): Hello? Hello, Michael? Is that you?

Mahone: Get up.

(Michael stands.)

Mahone: Turn around. (They don't move.) Turn around!

Michael: If you're gonna murder us, Alex, you're gonna have to look us in the eyes while you do it.

Mahone: Shut up!

Michael: You want me, you got me. Let my brother go!

Mahone: I don't want either of you. I just want my life back!

Michael: You're gonna kill two innocent men to get it, huh?

Mahone: Absolutely.

Man 1 (over tannoy): This is the United States Border Patrol. Drop the weapon and remain where you are.

(They are suddenly surrounded by patrol cars, sirens wailing and lights flashing.)

Man 1 (over tannoy): Drop the weapon.

Officer: United States Border Patrol! Drop your weapon!

Man 2: All agents hold your positions.

Mahone: I'm FBI. These men are in my custody.

Officer: I don't care who you are. Until we verify, you will drop your weapon or we will drop you. Your choice.

(Mahone hesitates, but then complies and puts his gun on the ground. Border Patrol move in.)

Man 2: Move in! Hands on your head, now! Don't move!

[INT. Plane. Night.]

Sucre: You got anything to drink?

Pilot: Check the back.

Man (over radio): Unknown rider, unknown rider. This is DEA on guard. Radio frequency...

CUT TO: Shot of a border patrol plane soaring through the sky.

CUT TO: Pilot: Uh-oh.

Sucre: What do you mean uh-oh?

Pilot: Border Patrol's on our ass, man.

Sucre: How long till we get to Mexico?

Pilot: We're already in Mexico, papi.

Sucre: I thought they couldn't follow us once we cross the border.

Pilot: Not since 9/11, hombre.

Man (over radio): I repeat, unknown rider, unknown rider...

Sucre: What are we gonna do? (The pilot throws him a backpack.)

Pilot: Pull the cord and pray.

Sucre: Oh, hell, no.

Pilot: Look, we try and land the plane, we're pinched for sure.

Sucre: And if we jump?

Pilot: We're in the middle of the desert. Patrol'll have a hard time trying to find us once we land.

Sucre: If we land.

Pilot: Oh, you're gonna land. It's just a matter of how hard. Good luck, amigo. (He jumps out of the plane. Sucre looks panicked.)

(Sucre pulls the backpack on, takes a sip of whiskey, crosses himself, then jumps out the plane.)

[INT. Kim's Office. Night.]

Fox News Anchor (On TV): We're receiving reports that escaped convicts Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield have been apprehended just a few miles north of the U.S.-Mexican border.

(Bill Kim watches the news report. He's not happy.)

TV Anchor: Federal Agent Alex Mahone, with assistance from the United States Border Patrol, took the men into custody just a short time ago.

[INT. Kellerman's Car. Night.]

Radio: Now, not a lot of information available at this time, but we do know the brothers were apprehended without incident while attempting to leave the country through the deserts of New Mexico.

[INT. Fox River Penitentiary. Night.]

(Patterson and some other COs watch the report.)

TV Anchor: A long way from Illinois' Fox River State Penitentiary, where they escaped from less than 10 days ago.

[INT. FBI Field Office. Night.]

(FBI Agent Wheeler and others watch the news. He and the others clap happily.)

TV Anchor: The Fox River Eight, as the group of convicts were once known, are now down to four, as only Benjamin Miles Franklin, Fernando Sucre, Charles Patoshik and Theodore Bagwell remain at large.

[INT. Kim's Office. Night.]

Aide: Sir? He just heard, and he'd like to see you.

TV Anchor: Tips continue to pour in to manhunt's national hotline...

(Kim looks very scared.)

[Title Card: Pratt, Kansas. War Veterans Bar.]

[INT. Bar. Night.]

(T-Bag sits at the bar, watching the news report.)

TV Anchor: ...are now down to four, as only Benjamin Miles Franklin, Fernando Sucre, Charles Patoshik and Theodore Bagwell remain at large.

T-Bag: Godspeed, gentlemen. (He toasts a shot glass to the news report.)

TV Anchor: Officials say its only a matter of days before the rest of the Fox River Eight are back behind prison walls. Tips continue to pour in to manhunt's national hotline, and officials believe all four fugitives are still on American soil, allaying fears that they may have escaped across the Mexican border.

(T-Bag turns to look at the other people in the bar when a man with a prosthetic claw takes a drink. T-Bag saunters over to a group of war vets who are playing pool.)

T-Bag: Excuse me, sarge...I was wondering if you could help a brother out?

War Vet: With what?

T-Bag: I only recently returned from delivering democracy to the desert and I was wondering if you could tell me how a guy goes about getting one of those prosthetic jobbies.

War Vet: Didn't they make you whole before they shipped you back?

T-Bag: Let's just say the doctor made the bed, he just neglected to tuck in the sheets.

War Vet: Best thing for you to do is go on down there to the VA, get in line.

T-Bag: That simple. (He takes off his hat and runs a hand through his hair.)

War Vet: Yeah. Till they send you the bill and you gotta pay it. Those bastards up there in Washington send us off to fight, but not a damn one of them fights for us.

T-Bag: Man, that is a crime. But luckily for me, money is not the issue.

War Vet: Is that right?

T-Bag: Any particular forms I might need in order to qualify?

War Vet: You know what? Mr. Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell? You figured out how to dye that hair of yours up like a nancy all by yourself. You sure as hell can figure out how to get a prosthetic for that stump of yours by yourself.

T-Bag (looking down at the man's prosthetic hand): Yeah, I think I got a pretty good idea where to start.

[Title Card: Las Cruces, New Mexico. Border Patrol Holding Facility.]

[INT. Holding Facility. Night.]

(Michael and Lincoln are escorted in.)

[Title Card: Joliet, Illinois. Fox River State Penitentiary.]

Reporter: I'm here with Ed Pavelka, the new Warden of Fox River Penitentiary, where Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield are scheduled to be returned to some time tomorrow. Now Warden, the escape happened a mere two days before Burrows was scheduled to be put to death. He's already been granted one day. Do you anticipate any further?

Pavelka: Lincoln Burrows is a convicted murderer. His escape has endangered the lives of civilians across this country. He is not a celebrity. He is not a martyr. I can assure you that whatever leniency was afforded him and the other prisoners under the old regime at Fox River will no longer be tolerated. The only thing that Mr. Burrows can expect is what a jury of his peers demanded: a speedy execution.

Reporter: And Michael Scofield?

Pavelka: With his escape, the aiding and abetting charges, the felonies he's racked up along the way on top of his original sentence, I'd say Mr. Scofield will be spending the rest of his life behind bars. Thank you.

Reporter 2: Warden, once more question, sir...

CUT TO: Michael and Lincoln, in the holding facility.

OPENING CREDITS.

[Title Card: Chicago, Illinois. FBI Field Office.]

[INT. FBI Office. Day.]

Agent Wheeler: Who's got Mahone? (Someone hands him a cell phone.) Congratulations, sir.

CUT TO: Mahone, at the holding facility.

Mahone: What do you got?

Wheeler: Uh, a call from the Illinois DOC. They're sending a huge contingent down there to collect Burrows and Scofield, take them back to Fox River personally.

Mahone: Remind them this is a federal case, and we'll handle transport. Now...

Wheeler: I did. But it's an election year, collar this big, everybody wants a piece. Warden called in a favor to the Bureau chief. He okayed it, so here we are. Should be there in about an hour.

Mahone: I wanna be placed in the prisoner-transport vehicle.

Wheeler: What for?

Mahone: Just get it done!

Wheeler: Sir, these were the big fish and you brought them in. You should feel good about that.

(Mahone stares across at Michael and Lincoln in the holding cell.)

Mahone: Yeah. Yeah. (He hangs up.)

[INT. Holding Cell. Day.]

Lincoln: Well, at least we're together.

Michael: Yes, there is that. What are you thinking?

Lincoln: Thinking about the old man. What he tried to do. You know. Tough to go down swinging when you're locked in a box.

Michael: This isn't over yet. We're entitled to a phone call. We make that one phone call to Sara and she has the information Dad said she has, we can get you exonerated before this whole thing goes down.

Lincoln: Michael, it's...

Michael (to Border Patrol Officer): Hey. We're entitled to a phone call.

Officer: You're entitled to precisely squat until you're officially in custody. And that won't happen until you're back in Fox River, so sit tight. (He walks away.)

Michael (to Lincoln): It's not over yet.

Lincoln: Not yet. Lot of ground to cover between here and Illinois. (He looks over at Mahone.) I mean, what are the chances we even make it to Fox River alive?

CUT TO: Mahone, on the phone.

Kim (v/o): Saw you on the news, Alex.

Mahone: Did you.

CUT TO: Kim: The brothers too. They were a little more, um...breathing than I'd hoped.

Mahone: Yeah, well, Border Patrol showed up. Nothing I could do.

Kim: Really? Burrows and Scofield, can you see them from where you are?

Mahone: Yeah.

Kim: Then put a bullet in their heads.

Mahone: They're being watched.

Kim: I don't care.

Mahone: By armed guards.

Kim: They make it back to Fox River, it is over for all of us. There's not much more this country loves than a bad man with a good story. How much longer do you think it'll be before someone puts a microphone in front of them?

Mahone: Hey, are you listening? Okay? With the security here, what you're asking me to do is tantamount to suicide. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Kim: I wasn't asking anything. That would imply you had a say in the matter. Pull this off and you are halfway home, Alex. You remember what home is like, don't you? 90 West End Avenue, white fence, red door?

Mahone: You stay away from my family!

(Kim hangs up. Mahone stares over at Michael.)

[EXT. Street. Day.]

(T-Bag leans against a bus stop shelter, holding a newspaper in an all-too-familiar prosthetic hand. He looks back behind him occasionally, until a woman walks out of a building. T-Bag watches her for a second, then trails her.)

[INT. Diner. Day.]

(T-Bag sits at the bar in a diner, near to the woman he was trailing - Denise. She's eating her lunch and has a little food on her face.)

T-Bag: You've got a little something on your, uh...(he gestures to his mouth.)

(She tries to wipe it but misses.)

T-Bag: No, here, let me. (He reaches over and uses a napkin to wipe it off.) Pardon my forwardness. I...

Denise: No, it's okay.

T-Bag: Normally, I wouldn't intervene. It's just, yesterday when I was...I got home from work I found what looked like the Brazilian rain forest lodged between my two front teeth. And all I could think about was the number of people who must've seen, and not...not a damn one of them had the decency to tell me.

Denise: Mild diastema.

T-Bag: Excuse me?

Denise: It's a slight gap between your eight and nine. Your two front teeth. And that it sometimes can act as a magnet for food...like broccoli and tuna, and sometimes rice. Or relish.

T-Bag: All this and brains too? What are you a dentist or a...?

Denise: Me, no. Hardly, no. (She laughs.) I could never. My ex, he was...

T-Bag: A bastard?

Denise: That too.

T-Bag: Have you ever been to Italy, uh...?

Denise: Denise.

T-Bag: Denise. That's a lovely name. Um...you know, in Italy, they have wine every day with lunch. And what do we do in this country? We power down our food with caffeine, carbonation and high-fructose corn syrup. No one ever takes the time to enjoy things anymore. Denise, would you do me the honor of enjoying the rest of your lunch with me?

Denise: I think I'd like that.

T-Bag: White or red?

[Title Card: Greeley County. Kansas. District Court.]

[INT. Courtroom. Day.]

(Bellick sits in the courtroom.)

Attorney: And with limited financial resources, he poses no flight risk...

Prosecution: Unless he'd rather not stand trial for capital murder. The defendant has shown great resourcefulness in being able to travel across country with little money. There's no reason he couldn't do it again. If you don't want to believe me, believe Mr. Bellick.

(He presses the button on the tape recorder.)

Bellick (On Tape): You thieving son of a bitch. You'd better get down on your knees and pray to God that I don't find you. Because if I do, mark my words, I will gut you bow to stern.

Prosecutor: He promised to kill Mr. Geary, and then he kept that promise. A man like the defendant should not be out in society.

Judge: I concur. Bail denied. (She bangs the gavel.)

[INT. Holding Facility. Day.]

(Mahone paces a dark, empty room at the holding facility. He takes a small pistol from an ankle holster. He points it towards himself, and wrestles with the thought of ending it right there. He shakes it off, and forces the pistol back into the holster.)

[INT. Holding Cell. Day.]

(Michael can see his cell phone, bagged, just out of his reach. It's buzzing quietly as Sara tries to get through. Michael watches it longingly.)

Lincoln: Who would that be?

Michael: Only one person.

CUT TO: Sara, walking in the street - day.

Sara: Michael, it's me. Listen, this phone rang last night and I went to answer it, but I couldn't hear anything. And I wonder if maybe it was you. Um...oh God, I don't know what I should do right now, I don't know if I should leave a message or who might be listening to this, but, um...I, uh...I need to know that you're okay. Um, I need you to know that I'm not. I didn't leave you in Gila. Something happened to me and I don't...um, I don't know what to do right now. I'm not too sure where to go, but I know that you're the only person I can trust, and I need you to, um...uh...I need you to be okay, and um...and I need you. Please. (She hangs up.)

[EXT. Holding Facility. Day.]

[A convoy of police vehicles pulls into the Border Patrol facility.]

Man 1: Stand by to receive Border Patrol transport.

Man 2: Incoming prisoners, stand by.

Man 3: Yes, sir.

[INT. Holding Facility. Day.]

(Mahone watches Michael and Lincoln. Then he walks over to the officer in charge.)

Mahone: Alexander Mahone, Bureau. These are my prisoners, and I will be personally escorting them in the transfer vehicle.

Officer: You can follow in a chase car.

Mahone: I don't believe you heard me. I'll be accompanying them in their trans...

Officer: The only people allowed in the van are the driver and two guards, who've been trained and certified in prisoner transport.

Mahone: Are you really gonna make me go over your head?

Officer: I'll even dial the phone for you. This is standard procedure, Agent Mahone. We need to keep that environment as controllable as possible. The more bodies, the less control.

Mahone: These men may have knowledge of the location of the other escapees. This is knowledge that I...I need to do my job.

Officer: And my job is to ensure the safe and successful transfer of these two prisoners. The chase vehicles are right outside.

(Michael and Lincoln are being escorted out. Michael locks eyes with Mahone.)

[INT. Kim's Office. Day.]

(An older man - Pad Man - watches the news report along with Agent Kim.)

Woman (on TV): We're coming to you live from the Border Patrol facility in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield are being transferred...

(His cell phone rings. He answers it.)

Kim: There better be a damn good reason why those brothers are still alive.

CUT TO: Kellerman: Bad day, Bill?

CUT TO: Kim: Sorry, I thought this was someone who still existed. How's the jerky business, Owen?

Kellerman: It's actually looking pretty good right about now.

Kim: You call this number again, you're a dead man.

Kellerman: Actually, you don't kill Burrows and Scofield today, so are you. You know it, and I know it, and luckily for you, I know how to save your ass.

(Pad Man writes a note for Kim - 'Speaker'. Kim puts the phone down and clicks it onto speaker.)

Kim: The brothers are already being transferred. You're too late.

Kellerman: Actually, the transport van is exactly where you want them to be, Bill.

Kim (scoffs): Why?

Kellerman: Why? You want my help, Bill? I want my job back. That means direct access to the president, I report only to her.

Kim: You're reaching, Paul. Goodbye.

Kellerman: Don't shut me out, Bill. You think Burrows and Scofield are a threat to this administration? I know everything Caroline Reynolds has ever done. Everything. Now before you panic, all I am asking is to be allowed to finish the job that I started. To prove to the president and to you that I am still an asset to this administration.

(Pad Man holds up another note: 'Plan?')

Kim: What's your plan?

CUT TO: the brothers being led into the transport vehicle, handcuffed and chained. Mahone follows.

Kellerman (v/o): I have an old associate in Illinois DOC. They're heading up the transfer.

Kim (v/o): It's gonna take more than one guy on the inside.

Kellerman: Not if the guy's in the right place. Bill, you give me the go ahead on this, and those brothers get in the van, it'll be the last thing they ever do.

[The transport van pulls out of the facility.]

ACT 2.

[INT. Denise's Bedroom. Day.]

(T-Bag checks himself over in the bedroom mirror. Behind him, Denise lays motionless on the floor. For a moment it seems she might be dead. Then she moves and stands up.)

Denise: I have never done that before.

T-Bag: Then I guess we was making up for some lost time.

Denise: I have to ask, Sam, are you, uh...are you married or something?

T-Bag: Me? No. What makes you think...?

Denise: Come on. I may be plain, but I'm not a fool. Usually, the men I end up with are just looking for something, you know...on the side.

T-Bag: Denise, the only side I'm interested in is the inside. And that place within you is not plain.

Denise (smiling, flustered): I have to get back to work.

T-Bag: Do you really?

Denise: I have to close tonight.

T-Bag: How about I pick you up after? We can have dinner.

Denise: Are you sure?

T-Bag: Denise. I insist.

[EXT. Road. Day.]

[Mahone rides alongside the transport van in a chase car. His cell phone rings, he answers it.]

Mahone: Yeah?

Kim: Good news. You're off the hook. Paul Kellerman has a team ready to move on the caravan outside of Albuquerque.

Mahone: Okay. So where does that leave us?

Kim: When it goes down, there's sure to be a moment or two of chaos. A certain amount of confusion, lots of bullets flying. I need you there to make sure Paul Kellerman catches one.

Mahone: A little early to be covering your tracks, isn't it? That escapees, that was our deal. That's all.

Kim: Right. Our deal. Refresh my memory, was our deal supposed to end with Burrows and Scofield going back to Prison, or bleeding from a hole in their heads? We're giving you a chance to make this right, Alex. Just let Kellerman take care of it. Let him be our Oswald.

Mahone: And that makes me your Jack Ruby.

Kim: Jack Ruby was working alone. You've got the support of the United States government behind you, Alex. Good luck in Albuquerque.

(He hangs up the phone, looking down at another of Pad Man's notes. It reads: 'Retire Kellerman'. He screws it up.)

Kim: I promise, sir, this'll all be over shortly. And it'll be back to business as usual.

[INT. Transport Vehicle. Day.]

Lincoln: Do you regret it?

Michael: What?

Lincoln: Knowing what you know now, do you regret helping me?

Michael: You'd have done the same thing for me.

Lincoln: You think?

Michael: I know.

Lincoln: You didn't answer the question.

Michael: I don't regret the act. Just how it turned out.

[INT. Local Jail. Day.]

(Bellick walks down the hallway with his attorney, he's cuffed and shackled and in an orange jumpsuit.)

Attorney: Well, we've got a premeditated murder on our hands. You wanted to steal money and then kill the only witness.

Bellick: Are you my attorney or theirs? I told you, I didn't do anything.

Attorney: No, I'm just explaining their theory of what happened. Your explanation to the cops that you didn't kill Geary because you were too busy trying to steal 5 million in federally insured money? Probably not the best move. But there is good news.

Bellick: What's that?

Attorney: The DA is willing to offer a deal. Twenty-five years.

Bellick: No.

Attorney: Brad, they'll drop the capital charge. No death penalty.

Bellick: No! I'll be almost 65 when I get out!

Attorney: But you'd get out. If this case goes to trial, there's an excellent chance you're sentenced to death. Now, I've been doing this a while, and I can tell you, these things never go down good. When the system wants you, they get you, one way or another.

Bellick (begins to break down): Part of the deal's gotta be I do my time in Illinois. So I can be near my mom.

[EXT. Road. Day.]

(The convoy continues on its long journey.)

*FLASHBACK*

(Young Michael and Lincoln walk out the Department of Children and Family Services, carrying suitcases.)

Young Michael: Where are they taking us?

Young Lincoln: Another foster home.

Young Michael: I don't wanna go. I liked it there.

Young Lincoln: I know you did.

Young Michael: It's because of you, the reason they're making us move. Because you were getting in trouble again?

Young Lincoln: Yeah, and I'm sorry.

*END FLASHBACK*

[INT. Transport Vehicle. Day.]

Lincoln: Seems like I've been dragging you in trouble my whole life.

Michael: Pulled me out of some too.

Lincoln: Yeah.

(Lincoln hangs his head and looks at the van floor. The shackles around his feet catches his eye. Michael glances down too - the lock on Lincoln's chains is open. Michael's mind races.)

[INT. Mahone's Car. Day.]

(Mahone's cell phone rings. He answers it.)

Mahone: Yeah?

Kellerman: Alex, Paul Kellerman. Have you spoken with Bill Kim?

Mahone: Yeah. Yeah, he filled me in. You're staging in Albuquerque.

Kellerman: Listen, me jumping in at this point, it in no way reflects my feelings about the job you've been doing. I just wanted you to know that.

Mahone: Of course. So long as we get the job done.

Kellerman: We all get to go back to our families, right?

Mahone: The sooner the better. So, what do I need to know?

[EXT. Street. Day.]

(Sara approaches a store with a TV in the window. The news is on.)

Woman (on TV): As we first reported last night, after nine days on the run, fugitives Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, two of the masterminds behind the desperate Fox River Eight escape, were apprehended by Border Patrol officials near the Mexican border, and are being transferred back to Fox River Penitentiary today. Officials say Burrows, who was scheduled to die for the murder of President Reynolds' brother Terrence Steadman could have his execution rescheduled for as early as late next week. With the number of felonies the pair now face, Burrows' brother Michael Scofield...

(Sara, who had been watching the report in stunned disbelief, hurries away.)

[Title Card: Albuquerque, New Mexico.]

[EXT. Tunnel. Day.]

(The convoy travels into a tunnel, but as they come to a bend a jackknifed truck blocks their path. Everyone slows to a stop and officers jump out to see what's going on, including Mahone.)

Officer: Hey, what's going on our there?

Driver: Let me go check.

(The driver of the transport van exits. Michael and Lincoln watch curiously.)

CUT TO: Mahone approaches the barriers.

Man 1: What do you see?

Man 2: I'll let you know.

Mahone: How much time is it gonna take it move this?

Officer 2: I've got my men working on it now.

(Mahone turns around and locks eyes with Michael.)

Lincoln: What's going on up there?

Officer: Are you in a hurry, convict?

(Another officer knocks on the side of the transport van.)

Officer 3: Hey, we need some help getting this rig out of the road.

(The officer gets out of the van, leaving his keys on the seat. Michael stares at them in disbelief.)

Michael: Linc.

(They stare at each other, suspicious.)

CUT TO: Mahone: Come on...

CUT TO: Michael: All right, let's say we get the cuffs off. Where do we go?

(Lincoln looks across to his right: there is a service door in the tunnel and its open.)

Lincoln: There.

Michael: That's too easy.

CUT TO: Mahone: Come on. Come on, Michael, take it. Come on, come on.

CUT TO: Michael and Lincoln, glancing at each other, then at the keys, then at the open door.

CUT TO: Mahone: Take it. Take it and run.

ACT 3.

[INT. Transport Vehicle. Day.]

Michael: Let's think about this. The keys are accidentally left out.  The door is accidentally left open.

Lincoln: It's our only shot.

Michael: It's their only shot. Don't have an excuse to kill us unless we give it to them.

CUT TO: Kellerman, on a nearby rooftop with his gun.

Kellerman (on phone): How we doin'?

Mahone (on phone): Nothing so far.

Kellerman: None?

Mahone: They're talking, that's all.

Kellerman: They haven't bitten in five minutes, you pull the semi, you tell them it's fixed. You release traffic.

Mahone: And do what?

Kellerman: You want the rabbit to hop, you move the carrot, Alex. (He cocks his gun and hangs up.)

[EXT/INT. Post Office. Day.]

(T-Bag heads into a United States Post Office. Denise is just inside.)

Denise: You showed.

T-Bag: A gentleman always does.

Denise: Where are we going to eat?

T-Bag: Wherever your heart desires. You know, there's just one teensy-tiny thing I've been meaning to ask.

Denise: Anything.

[INT. Post Office. Day.]

(Denise types into a computer while T-Bag stands behind her.)

Denise: You know, forwarding addresses are supposed to be confidential. I really shouldn't be doing this.

T-Bag: Well, you shouldn't have been doing a lot of things we did this afternoon. But, uh...neither of us has been smited down yet.

Denise (picking up a print out): There she is. I imagine your cousin'll be pretty surprised to hear about the money her uncle left her.

T-Bag: You can be certain of it.

Denise: Sam, I hope you don't mind me asking but, um...your hand. What happened to it?

(T-Bag hides the prosthetic hand inside his hat, self-consciously.)

Denise: I'm sorry, I didn't wanna make you feel uncomfortable or nothing. I just...I wanna know you. I wanna know everything about you and if this is a part of who you are then I wanna know how it...

(Her voice trails off as she looks behind T-Bag to the noticeboard.)

Denise: Oh, dear God...

(T-Bag looks behind him: on the noticeboard is a large Wanted poster with his picture on it.)

T-Bag: I really wish you hadn't seen that.

[INT. Post Office. Day.]

(T-Bag walks out of the room, looking at the print out Denise gave him. As he walks away, the camera shows Denise's lifeless legs emerging from under her desk.)

[INT. Fox River Penitentiary. Day.]

Bellick: Okay, here's what I'm thinking. You and some of the boys get yourself transferred over to ad seg. That way we can spend our days playing Scrabble and watching SportsCenter.

Patterson: Look, captain...

Bellick: Then in about a year and a half or so, you recommend me for one of those work-release programs. Then I can sweat off the rest of my time heaving hay and getting sun.

Patterson: That's why...

Bellick: It ain't freedom, but it's damn close.

Patterson: Is that why you requested to be sent here?

Bellick: Oh, I go anywhere else as a former CO and I'm a dead man. But here I got men to watch my back, get me the finest accommodations...

Patterson: They're not putting you in ad seg.

Bellick: I don't care where they're putting me, just take me to ad seg.

Patterson: It's not like it used to be, captain. The COs don't run the game here anymore.

Bellick: What do you mean?

Patterson: This new warden. He's cracking down to prove he's serious about showing preferential treatment. He's making an example out of you.

(A buzzer sounds. The gate opens.)

Bellick: Lou, what the hell is this?

Patterson: Gen pop.

[INT. Cell 22. Day.]

(Bellick walks into his cell. He slides his belongings under his bunk, and looks up to face his cellmate - Avocado.)

Avocado: Welcome home, boss.

(Bellick turns to stare out at the tiers in shock.)

[INT. Public Restroom. Day.]

(Sara turns on the faucet and takes a razor blade out of her purse. She draws it over the bathroom mirror, then runs it under the hot water.)

[Title Card: Sonoran Desert. Mexico. 40 Miles South Of The US/Mexican Border.]

[EXT. Mexican Desert. Day.]

(Sucre stands over the body of the pilot - his parachute never opened. Sucre takes a moment, then turns and heads off toward the horizon, past his own opened parachute.)

[INT. Tunnel. Day.]

Officer: Okay everybody, we're moving out.

(Mahone turns and locks eyes with Michael. Then he turns away.)

[INT. Transport Vehicle. Day.]

Lincoln: Window's closing, Michael. Once the truck moves...

Michael: If we run now, we give them permission to put a bullet in our heads.

Lincoln: We stay, I'm dead within the week. You're locked up for life. Or until they find a way to get to you, and believe me they will.

Michael: If we go back to prison, we'll have a few extra days. We'll have a chance to contact Sara.

Lincoln: We don't know where Sara is. Sara may be dead, Michael. Let me get us out of here the only way I know how.

Michael: Fighting?

Lincoln: Yeah.

(Michael pauses, then sighs.)

Michael: Get the keys.

(Lincoln reaches across the van.)

CUT TO: Mahone, who opens his cell phone.

Mahone: Here we go. Here we go.

CUT TO: Kellerman, on the rooftop.

Kellerman: Copy that.

(Kellerman flips off his phone and puts it away. He puts his mouth to his wrist to speak into the radio.)

Kellerman: All right, we're on. Heads up. Hold traffic.

CUT TO: Several officers in the tunnel, who have ear pieces in their ears.

Officer: Hold all traffic. Okay.

CUT TO: Michael and Lincoln, hurriedly taking their shackles off.

Michael: You know we have no idea what's behind that door.

Lincoln: Nope. You ready?

Michael: No. You?

Lincoln: No.

Michael: Let's go.

ACT 4.

[EXT. Tunnel. Day.]

(Lincoln opens the van door and runs for the railing, sliding under it and running to the open door. He is followed closely by Michael. The guards open fire as Michael closes and locks the door behind them.)

Man 1: Get it open! Kick it open! Go!

Man 2: All men to the tunnel!

(The guards swarm the door, but Mahone slips quietly out the back of the tunnel.)

[INT. Tunnel. Day.]

(Michael and Lincoln race through the belly of the tunnel, with no real idea of where they're going.)

Michael: Just pray there's another way out of here.

CUT TO: Mahone, sliding through the corridors, right behind them, gun drawn.

CUT TO: Michael and Lincoln sprinting on, changing direction when they can.

Lincoln: This way.

CUT TO: Mahone, who pulls out his cell phone.

Mahone: Yeah, they're in, and they're heading straight for you.

Kellerman: Armed?

Mahone: No. Where are you? I'll back you up.

Kellerman: You just keep moving. As long as they're running from you, they're running towards me. They're boxed in.

Mahone: Yeah.

[Title Card: Ness City, Kansas.]

(T-Bag walks through a quiet suburb, checking addresses. He takes off his hat and tries to fix his hair as he approaches the door and rings the bell.)

Woman (o/s): Oh, hold on one sec. (She opens the door, looking down - it's Susan Hollander.) Could I write a check for the food, because I don't have... (She looks up and recognizes him. Her words trail off.)

T-Bag: Hello, Mrs. Hollander. They say a good woman is hard to find. Well, if that's true, you must be very, very, very good. (He walks in as she backs away slowly, looking terrified.) Don't be frightened. Teddy's home.

[INT. Tunnel. Day.]

(Michael and Lincoln continue through the access tunnels.)

Lincoln: This way.

CUT TO: Mahone, moving silently after the brothers.

CUT TO: Michael and Lincoln, they move into a large open section of the tunnels. Lincoln is about to walk on when Michael pulls him back - he's noticed a section of tunnel high in the wall. They climb into it.

CUT TO: Mahone, hiding behind the corner. He sees Lincoln's shadow disappearing.

Mahone (on phone): They're improvising, heading toward the surface.

CUT TO: Kellerman. He leaves his position, grabs his gun and runs for the access tunnels.

[INT. Tunnels. Day.]

Lincoln: Where to?

Michael: I don't know. Look, if something happens to us, if we get separated, if one of us doesn't make it, promise me you'll find Sara.

Lincoln: We're gonna make it.

Michael: Just promise me.

Lincoln: I promise. Come on.

[EXT. Street. Day.]

(Sara hurries through a busy street and stops by a garbage can. Her hair is cut shorter. She opens her purse and dumps her belongings, cell phone and all forms of identification. She finds her Fox River Penitentiary ID and pauses for a moment, staring at it. Then she throws it in. She walks off with her head down.)

[INT. Tunnels. Day.]

(Mahone and Kellerman race towards each other and finally succeed in pinning Michael and Lincoln in. Both Mahone and Kellerman have their weapons pointed at the brothers.)

(Mahone moves forward and Michael spins around. Kellerman fires his gun and Lincoln turns towards Michael - but the bullet didn't hit Michael. Mahone staggers backwards and collapses to the ground. Michael and Lincoln stare at Kellerman in disbelief.)

Kellerman: President Reynolds ruined your life. She ruined my life. You wanna take the bitch down? You just found your inside man. But it's gotta be right now. Let's go! Now!

(He sprints off back the way he came. Lincoln and Michael hesitate for a second, then follow him.)
